Podcast Conversation: Crossing the Threshold: How to Trust Yourself When Everything Shifts

What happens to self-trust when the life you thought you understood suddenly changes?

I recently joined Michelle Aalbers on her Hypothetically Intentional podcast for a conversation about self-trust, major life transitions, identity and transformation — and what it means to cross a threshold when there is no clear map for what comes next.

We talked about the moments when our usual ways of navigating life stop working. When competence, certainty and the identities we have relied on are no longer enough. And about the deeper kind of trust that can begin to emerge when we stop trying to return to who we were and become curious about who we are becoming.

For me, this is at the heart of initiation and transformation: the space between an old life that no longer fits and a new one that has not yet fully taken form.

Our conversation explored what it means to rebuild self-trust after disruption, live with uncertainty, and move forward without needing to know exactly where the path will lead.
