You may not know you’re being initiated when your life falls apart. You might simply think: This is terrible. Meaning often arrives much later. I used to think the difficult part of a life-changing experience was surviving it. Now I wonder if the harder work is deciding what the experience will make of you.
I love the word initiation because it suggests something more than hardship. Not simply: This happened to me. But: I crossed something because of it. A story that once felt impossible to understand now has a place between the covers of a book. Maybe this is why I write.
I contributed a chapter to The Way of the Initiate to take the things that once overwhelmed me and give them form. To allow my lessons to speak and my transformation to inspire others.
The Way of the Initiate is a collection of powerful stories about the moments that awaken us to who we truly are.
Through deeply personal experiences of transformation, loss, intuition, surrender, healing, awakening, and becoming, its authors reveal the initiations that disrupted the lives they knew and invited them onto a deeper path.
These are the moments when life stops asking us to remain who we have been and begins calling us toward who we are becoming.
Each story is different. Each path is deeply personal. Yet together, they illuminate a universal truth:
Our greatest initiations often become invitations to remember who we are, reconnect with the wisdom within us, and align with the path our soul has been quietly leading us toward all along.
